Welcome to the Accio FanFiction Awards, Season One!

What's our goal?
Very simple - to allow people the chance to showcase their fanfiction, or fanfiction written by their peers. This site will categorize, based on each award season, the best of Harry Potter literature written by fans, for fans. While there are thousands upon thousands of different stories based on the Harry Potter world, few of them really stand out as being great - not only for their accuracy and tone, but also for the care taken in spelling, grammar and attempt at setting the British tone. That is why we hope that eventually we can showcase some of the best fanfiction out there, making us a great starting place for those people looking for a great escape back to Hogwarts while we wait for the next great adventure from Ms. Rowling!

I disappeared on everyone didn't I? Sincere apologies for the lack of updates. The fact is things are very quiet right now. I sent a lot of letters out, but few confirmed their nomination! Tonight I will be adding the small updates that I have...so check back then. Eight categories are now closed - Best Novel, Best Short Novel, Best Snippet, Best in Ship: Harry/Ginny, Best in Ship: Other, Best Main Character: Harry Potter, Best Main Character: Ginny Weasley and Best Kiss. Over muggles have visited this site so far!

What does each winner receive?
Each winner will receive an award that will look like this:

What can be done with the award?
A seemingly easy question, but one I've been asked before. The winner can do any of the following:
        a.) Place the award on your webpage (if applicable)
        b.) Place it on the same page as the story
        c.) For those who can't upload images, place a link back to Accio FanFiction's special winners page
             (winner will be given this link at the end of the season)
        and my favorite...
        d.) Print it out and paste it on your bedroom wall to cherish forever!

So when does this all start?
Right now! Here are the dates to remember:
        Nominations will be accepted 01.01.05 - 04.02.05
        Winners will be announced 04.23.05.

From May until September we will be concentrating on expanding the Accio network - look for Accio Recommendations coming soon! Also during the summer months (June, July and August) writing contests will be available. Look for the second season of Accio Awards starting August 01, 2005.

Okay, how do I nominate a story?
Well, seeing as it is highly classified Ministry information, you will have to go to the guidelines area to learn more!
